Consortium fuses computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound images:
This article was originally published in Clinica
A consortium led by the ultrasound group of Siemens Medical Systems has fused CT and ultrasound images. The researchers also claim that the combined image can spatially shift with movement of the ultrasound scanner, which is being developed for use in the battlefield (see Clinica No 710, p 16). Development of an application-specific integrated circuit to reduce the size of the scanner is also under way.
