Trinity Biotech has launched its Uni-Gold HIV and Uni-Gold hepatitis B one-step tests, which require only one drop of either whole blood, serum or plasma. The tests will be marketed worldwide except for the HIV test which has not been cleared by the FDA for use in the US. Based in Dublin, Ireland, the company has formed a licence agreement with Becton Dickinson for development of further Uni-Gold tests. The Uni-Gold products were introduced at the American Association of Clinical Chemistry in Chicago last week.
