Executive Summary
The number of people infected with HIV in China was estimated at 3,341 at the end of 1995. Of these, 117 were suffering from AIDS, according to Chen Chunming of the National Specialists' Committee for the Prevention and Control of AIDS. At a recent Chinese seminar on AIDS he admitted, however, that the actual number could be much larger.
