Executive Summary
Ostex International, US developer of osteoporosis diagnostics, is suing Danish company Osteometer and its US distributor, Diagnostic Systems Laboratories, for patent infringement. Ostex seeks an injunction prohibiting the sale of Osteometer's CrossLaps assay in the US. Ostex, based in Seattle, Washington, has filed the action in conjunction with the licensee of its Osteomark technology, the Washington Research Foundation. In the Netherlands, Ostex withdrew patent infringement action against Osteometer in February (see Clinica No 691, p 9).
