Swiss company Ciba-Geigy's Moscow representative has purchased 3,000 SeroStrip HIV-1/2 tests from Saliva Diagnostic Systems (US). SDS says that the Russian military has also expressed interest in the test. SeroStrip received approval for use and sale within Russia in January this year. Clinical trial evaluation for HemaStrip HIV-1/2, SDS' rapid antibody test, has been completed in Russia and the company expects the product to be registered there shortly.
