Profits rose 49% to $438 million at US cardiology company Medtronic in the 12 months to the end of April. Revenues increased 24.5% to $2,169 million. Medtronic calculates that revenues and net income per share have grown at compound annual rates of 17% and 26% respectively since 1985.
