Jose Antonio Gutierrez has been named head of the Carlos III Institute at the Spanish Ministry of Health. Mr Gutierrez is an endocrinologist at the San Carlos hospital in Madrid and will be responsible for the national medical technology evaluation agency, which is controlled by the institute.
