Italy works on new healthcare provider arrangements

The Italian government has started work to ensure the new healthcare service provider arrangements are operational by January 1st, 1997. Under the new system, individual health providers, services and practitioners in both the public and private sectors will need to be accredited by their regions. They will then be recognised as potential providers to the national health service.
