The total number of registered doctors in Germany rose to 335,348 in 1995, an increase of 2.6% on 1994, says a report by the Bundesarztekammer, the federal doctors' association. Some 273,880 doctors were practising, 72% of the total, up 2.5% on 1994. The number of practising doctors represents one doctor for every 298 Germans, compared with one per 305 in the previous year.
