Executive Summary
Guidant's Vascular Intervention group has exercised its option to license Cardiovascular Dynamics' (CVD) mechanical angioplasty catheter. In exchange, Guidant has granted exclusive rights to its SmartNeedle products to the Endosonics subsidiary CVD. The needles use Doppler technology to locate and assess difficult vascular access sites. CVD says it plans to add new miniaturised designs to the SmartNeedle range.
