Abbott launches amplification system

Abbott has launched its LCx DNA-amplification test system in the US. The LCx will be introduced with just one test, chlamydia, which was approved by the FDA in December (see Clinica No 686, Review 1995, p 26). The system, which uses Abbott's ligase chain reaction amplification technology, should make amplification-based testing simple enough for almost any laboratory.
