Executive Summary
DePuy International (UK) is setting up a total knee arthroplasty database which is expected to be available in the middle of 1996. The company has worked closely with orthopaedic surgeons to ensure relevant data is collected. It will complement the existing total hip replacement database already in hospital use where information can be collected on DePuy's own products as well as any other companies' implants. The Windows-based system will use Microsoft Access 2.0/Visual Basic software. The knee database uses the Hospital of Special Surgery and the American Knee Scoring Systems.
