Augustine Medical, the US maker of the Bair Hugger forced air warming blanket, has won a settlement of $18.5 million in its patent infringement case against Mallinckrodt and Gaymar (see Clinica No 754, p 10). The offending companies are now under an immediate injunction to stop accepting or fulfilling orders for their respective WarmTouch or Thermacare brands.
