Sales in Beiersdorf's medical division rose 7% to DM769 million ($413 million) in the first half of 1997. International medical sales rose 14%, while the domestic German market experienced a 3% decline. The company attributes this to uncertainty relating to healthcare budgets and reimbursement issues. Total sales were DM3.2 billion, up 8% on the previous year. In constant currencies, this represents 5% growth.
