Executive Summary

Heart Alert is test-marketing its PHD Personal Heart Device over the counter in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Heart Alert, received 510(k) clearance in May for the system, which allows subscribers to record symptomatic heart rhythms and transmit them to Heart Alert's monitoring service of physicians, nurses and technicians. They in turn alert the patient's own physician or the emergency services if abnormal heart rhythms are observed.
