The Canadian Medical Devices Bureau took an average of 59 days to reach device application decisions in the year ended March 31 1997. The agency received 269 device submissions, of which 164 were supplementary applications and 105 for new devices. It made revenues of Can$1.7 million ($1.2 million) under its programme of recovering the cost of device reviews from industry.
