Polartechnics of Australia is to link up with Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon to commercialise its cervical cancer and pre-cancer detection device, Polarprobe. The company's share price rose by over 20% on the news that Ethicon would be spending $18 million, subject to certain, unspecified milestones. Polartechnics will retain rights to market the product in Australasia, Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indochina.
