Executive Summary
Elekta will launch its new optimal microscope integrated image guided system (IGS) in Europe, at the MINS (minimal invasive neuro-surgery) conference in Paris this month. The surgical guidance tool, ViewScope, combines a high definition microscope with a new light source technology, and a software package. Elekta, based in Sweden, is working on an adaptation of the system for use in spinal microsurgery which it hopes to have completed by the end of this year.
