Medison, of South Korea, is to have exclusive distribution rights to EchoCath's ColorMark Systems in the Far East. The US firm's product is a needle visualisation system for ultrasound-guided tissue biopsies. Medison will buy a minimum, undisclosed, number of the systems over the next 12 months. The companies also agreed to collaborate on certain ultrasound technologies for future products. Medison is to use the ColorMark technology with its Voluson product, which it claims is the world's only real-time 3D digital ultrasound imaging system, and its Trident digital colour Doppler system.
