US companies Welch Allyn and Humphrey Instruments have joined forces to develop and market an automated device for diagnosing glaucomatous visual field loss. The device uses Welch Allyn's frequency doubling technology that enables full threshold testing to be performed in less than four minutes per eye and screening in about 45 seconds per eye.
