The vaccine development centre at the University of Mahidol in Thailand is joining forces with L'Orstom, the French Scientific Research Institute, to create a research centre for emerging viruses. Research at the university will focus on detection of a virus, its natural transmission cycles and development of combat strategies, says Le Quotidien du Medicin.
