Insurance agency aims to cut surgical waiting times

Spanish health insurance agency Insalud has launched a pilot programme to guarantee surgical patients are seen within set time limits. Under the scheme, hospitals which fail to examine patients within a certain time will have to account for the procedure within their budget, even if the surgery is carried out at another health centre.
