Alan Howard is stepping down as president of MTC, the international medical device consultancy firm he co-founded. Mr Howard is a well-known figure in the medical devices industry and an active participant in global harmonisation initiatives. He quits at the end of the year but will remain involved in the industry as a corporate adviser and active investor in start-up companies. MTC which was taken over by Quintiles in 1986.
