Siemens Medical Systems Nuclear Medicine Group has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Profile attenuation correction technique. Profile reduces detectable emissions caused by photoelectric absorption or by compton scattering as photons pass through the body. The technique is intended for the company's dual-head, variable-angle E Cam emission camera.
