This article was originally published in Clinica
Executive Summary
Visitec has introduced micro iris hooks to retract the iris during ophthalmic surgical procedures. The hooks, which are made from malleable gold wire, mechanically dilate the pupil. The ends of the hooks are smooth enough not to damage tissue. Visitec, based in Sarasota, Florida, provides five hooks per package, one hook more than the recommended number required to retract the iris.
