Medtronic has launched its Mosaic bioprosthetic heart valve in Europe. The porcine valve features the company's alpha-amino-oleic acid antimineralisation treatment and root pressure fixation, a technique that preserves the structure of the collagen and anatomic shape of the stented valve. Medtronic said the valve would also be released in Canada, Latin America and some Asian countries.
