Staar Surgical is to begin Phase III clinical trials in the US of its implantable contact lenses (ICLs) for myopia after getting the go-ahead from the FDA. The Monrovia, California-based company will implant 278 additional ICL's in patients and expand its trials to include patients with myopia of three dioptres.
