Becton Dickinson has acquired two small companies to complement diverse sectors of its diagnostics and devices business. It has paid approximately $16.3 million for Luther Medical, a California-based needle and catheter manufacturer and has completed the purchase of MDI Instruments, a Massachusetts company which markets diagnostic devices for middle-ear infection.
