Executive Summary
UK company Shield Diagnostics is to distribute the MAST CLA in vitro allergy test, manufactured Hitachi Chemical subsidiary MAST Immunosystems. The lab test, which uses a small plastic device, the MASTpette test chamber, containing cellulose threads, can detect 36 allergens, including pollen, dust and foods, from a single blood sample. Dundee-based Shield claims to be a leading company in autoimmune disease diagnosis and says the progression into allergy testing is a logical move.
