Innovasive Devices has begun US sales of its bioabsorbable device for the minimally-invasive repair of traumatic tears in the meniscus, the Clearfix meniscal screw. The Marlboro, Massachusetts-based company plans to launch the product internationally as it obtains the necessary approvals for different countries. Around 100,000 people in the US undergo traditional suturing or tacking treatment for meniscal tears, representing a $40 million market for Innovasive, the company says.
