Eli Lilly is continuing the launch of its HumaPen, a reusable insulin injection device. The product is designed to work only with Lilly's range of insulin products in 3ml cartridges. The product was launched first in Canada, Australia and Japan. Last month, the UK and Holland were added to the list and the company is investigating further national launches in Europe. The company's spokesperson said there were no plans to apply for FDA approval as the US market tends to prefer prefilled pens.
