Medtronic is investing in a small, development-stage company which is producing its first product. Minneapolis-based Medtronic is putting an undisclosed amount into the equity-funding of VenPro in exchange for rights to distribute its paediatric pulmonary, valved conduit outside the US. It would be the first product in Medtronic's heart valve portfolio aimed specifically at children.
