Interpore Cross International's research partner Quantic Biomedical has received a US patent for a safe, low-cost method for producing growth factors from a patient's own blood to help heal wounds. Interpore is investigating the use of autologous growth factors for stimulating new bone and cartilage to grow and has recently received 510(k) clearance to market the apparatus for purifying and delivering the growth factors mixed in with a bone graft.
