The FDA has approved Dornier MedTech's microwave thermotherapy device to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia. According to the Georgia-based company, the portable and compact Urowave unit delivers 90 watts of power to the tissue, which was "more than any other product on the market". The device, which also offers fully-automated software, has a urethral therapy probe which allows 360-degree cooling.
