Spectral Diagnostics' troponin I cardiac marker test will be used in the GUSTO IV Acute Coronary Syndromes trial, a 400-centre clinical trial of the anti-platelet drug ReoPro. The Cardiac STATus test is used by emergency room physicians to help identify patients with chest pain who are suffering a heart attack, angina or other acute heart problem. It will be used in the GUSTO trial to help identify around 7,800 patients who should receive ReoPro or other therapies.
