Female cancer insurance policy:
This article was originally published in Clinica
A Canadian insurance company is offering a specialised insurance policy designed to cover all forms of female cancer. Copoloff Insurance Agencies' "For Women Only" policy has two classes of premiums, one for women with no family history of the disease and one for women under 40 with a sister or mother who have had a female cancer. If cancer is diagnosed, the women receive an immediate cash payout of 50% of the sum assured with the remainder coming in 24 monthly instalments. The maximum coverage is $200,000. Montreal-based Copoloff, which developed the policy with Toronto Mutual Life, claims the policy is the only one of its kind in the world.
