The medical devices branch within the Czech State Institute for Drug Control has taken over responsibility for the regulation of in vitro diagnostics. The move follows the decision that diagnostics should no longer be regulated as pharmaceutical products, but should come under the jurisdiction of the Czech medical devices law.
