The FDA has cleared Radionics' Optical Tracking System for use during spinal surgery. The OTS allows a surgeon to localise the spinal column and track surgical instruments in and around the patient's anatomy. The tip and trajectory of the instrument is then displayed in a number of 2D and 3D views on a screen.
