Executive Summary
Insalud, Spain's national health agency, plans to give regional directors and hospital managers greater autonomy when dealing with contracts of up to Pta1 billion ($4.1 million). This should speed up the purchasing of medical equipment. Under present arrangements it can take at least two months to fulfil contracts, but with the change in management powers, Insalud hope this will be cut to 15 days, reports Diario Medico.
