Quantech of St Paul, Minnesota, has filed a 510(k) application for its whole blood myoglobin test based on surface plasmon resonance technology. The test is the first of a panel - later to include CK-MB and troponin - intended to allow critical care diagnosis of early stage heart attacks, on a single near-patient instrument within 20 minutes. An hCG marker test is under development.
