Executive Summary
Interpore International has CE marked its Pro Osteon 500R Resorbable bone graft substitute, used for bony defects caused by traumatic injury or surgery. The implant is largely made up of calcium carbonate and its surface is coated with calcium phosphate. Once implanted, this outer layer will slowly resorb, delaying exposure of the underlying and faster resorbing calcium carbonate.
