Medical device sales by the 23 member companies of the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries rose 5.7% in 1996 to RM1,404.9 million ($540 million). Sales growth is levelling off to a more sustainable rate after peaking at nearly 19% in 1995, the AMMI says. Exports account for around 97% of AMMI company sales.
