Interventional Innovations, the US medical device manufacturer, is to change its name to XRT, which stands for X-ray Therapeutics. XRT is developing a non-radioactive system that delivers X-ray radiation inside a blood vessel on demand. The initial focus is on products designed for the treatment of restenosis, the closing of arteries that have been opened with balloon catheters.
