Beckman Coulter has signed a five-year purchase contract with the US Veterans' Administration for in vitro diagnostics devices, service and consumables worth a claimed $100 million to the company. This is a renewal of a similar contract and Jeff McHugh, Beckman's field operations director, North America, said the fact that Beckman successfully supplied 100% of routine laboratory blood testing and 75% of specialty tests over that period helped secure the deal.
