Executive Summary
Siemens Medical System introduced the new addition to its range of digital flat panel detector radiography systems at the Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago recently, the VERTIX FD. The unit is dedicated to chest and skeletal applications and is designed for hospitals and clinics with a high throughput. The product enables exposures to be acquired with using conventional film/screen systems. Siemens has two other products in the FD range, the THORAX FD and the MULTIX FD. All three products received US FDA approval in April 1999.
