Medtronic's AT500 dual chamber, rate responsive pacemaker, which is in European trials for treating atrial tachyarrhythmias, has entered US trial. The device is designed to diagnose and treat patients with bradycardias, but who also suffer from, or could develop, atrial tachyarrhythmias and atrial fibrillation, said Medtronic (see Clinica No 866, p 19).
