SonoSite has CE-marked its hand-held, digital ultrasound system that, according to the company, can produce images comparable to larger, more expensive cart-based ultrasound systems. The SonoSite 180 system, which weighs just 2.5kg, could be available in Europe in the fourth quarter of 1999, said Bothwell, Washington-based SonoSite. The system is already cleared for sale in the US.
