Simple balloon angioplasty can achieve excellent results and should be used more frequently in patients with chest pain due to coronary artery obstructions, while stents should only be used when really needed. These are the conclusions of Dutch cardiologists who treated 1,058 patients and presented their results at the European Society of Cardiology meeting in Barcelona.
