Executive Summary
First Medical introduced its quantitative cardiac marker system which can be used in a point-of-care setting as well as in a STAT laboratory. The company exhibited at the AACC conference held in New Orleans at the end of July. The Alpha Dx, which has already gained US marketing clearance, uses an immunoassay platform to measure the cardiac markers CK, CK-MB, myoglobin and troponin I in less than 20 minutes using whole blood samples.
