Executive Summary

The UK National Health Service is reorganising its central procurement authority, NHS Supplies, in an attempt to resolve conflicts between the authority and individual hospitals. Next April will see the start-up of a new central Purchasing and Supply Agency to enforce best practice and co-ordinate procurement across the whole of the NHS in England.
